Adding an image to a document
Let’s start by learning how to insert an image into your document before we look at the steps you’ll need to take to use the editing tools. You might be wondering why you don’t see any editing tools when you open a document, click insert, select image, and select the image you want to use. That’s because when you use this method, you’re only putting the image into the document to see where it fits best. You can move it around, but you can’t change it. Follow the steps below to insert and edit an image:
Start by opening the document you’ll be working on.
On the menu bar below the document title, select “Insert.”
The drawing window will open when you click “Drawing.”
Choose the “Image” icon, which is the last icon on the window’s top bar.
Click “choose an image to upload,” then select and edit the image you want to use.
The image will be opened in the drawing window rather than in the main body of the document.
Use the tools in the drawing window to make any changes you want to the image. When you’re finished, click the “save and close” button in the upper right corner to insert the edited image into the document’s main body. If you think the image needs more work, click on it and you’ll see an edit link. If you click this link, you’ll be taken back to the drawing window, where you can make more changes.
Editing the image
The tools for editing your image are represented by the icons on the top portion of the drawing window. Let’s go over each option one by one, starting on the left and working our way to the right.
Actions – selecting this option allows you to cut, copy, and paste the image, though you can also use the standard keyboard shortcuts to do so. Duplicate, as the name implies, creates a second copy of the image. Word art, rotate, and order are some of the other options.
Undo – this will undo the last action you took.
It will perform a redo of the previous action.
Zoom – for better viewing and editing, zoom in and out on the image.
Select a specific image or object in the drawing window with this command.
Create a line anywhere in the window with this tool.
Shapes, arrows, callouts, and expressions can all be added to an image or document.
Use the Text Box to enter text into the image or window.
Image is used to insert an image into the drawing window, as you may know.
When you select an image, you will be given this option, as well as line weight, line dash, crop image, and mask image. This option lets you choose the colour of your image’s border.
With this tool, you can choose how thick the border or line will be.
Line Dash – this option allows you to choose your preferred line style.
Crop Image – cropping allows you to select only a portion of an image and remove the rest.
Mask Image – select one of several shapes by clicking the drop-down arrow next to the crop image icon. The image will be drawn in the shape of the figure you’ve selected.
